Vascular Complications and their Risk Factors in Patients of Diabetes Mellitus, Type 2

Introduction: To evaluate the vascular complications and their correlation with different risk factors among type-2 diabetic patients in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan.
 Methodology: Cross-sectional study was conducted at department of medicine Isra University Hospital, Hyderabad from March to September 2021. Type 2 diabetics either sex, between ages 20 70 years, on medication, were included study. While type I diabetes, unconscious or any mental health issues excluded. A Non-random consecutive sampling technique applied for selection participants. Socio-demographic, disease medication information collected using a written questionnaire while serum glucose level, albumin lipid profile analyzed.
 Results: Over half participants (51.72%) females, most (70.87%) aged < 40 years. total 124(28.5%) showed symptoms macro-vascular (16.78%) them having coronary artery disease. significant relation (p<0.05) found age, duration blood pressure, body mass index triglycerides. Peripheral significantly related systolic pressure triglyceride. cerebrovascular diastolic BP there.
 Conclusion: Coronary seems be common complication patients, high prevalence such as advanced DM, male hypertension, Body Mass Index, triglycerides.
